Brazil's Pantanal wetlands are one of the greatest wildlife areas in South America. Using the experience gained from many previous visits, our itinerary offers you the best of the Pantanal's birds and mammals along with Caimen, lizards and a plethora of other creatures.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1 - Fly to Cuiaba (via Sao Paulo)

Day 2 - Arrive in Cuiaba/Pantanal - Pousada do Rio Mutum

Reception upon arrival at Cuiaba airport. Transfer to Pousada do Rio Mutum, passing through the small village of Mimoso, where Mal. Candido Rondon was born. View the typical landscape, small mammals and many types of birds during your transfer. Check-in is followed by and introduction to the lodge and area around it. In the evening a delicious piranha soup will be served just before dinner. Dinner is followed with an introduction to the activities of the following days. Overnight stay at the lodge. 

Day 2 - Pantanal, Pousada do Rio Mutum

Breakfast is followed by horseback trail riding in the jungle, up to the edge of the Sia Mariana bay. Throughout the year, a huge variety of birds, animals and reptiles can be seen. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon there will be a boat ride for a photographic safari in Mutum River. Giant otters, stingrays and shoals of small fish can be seen in its' crystal clear waters. At the Mutum river banks, a large variety of birds can also be seen. Return to the lodge for dinner, followed by a nocturnal animal spotting trip by jeep in the surrounding area. Overnight stay at the lodge. 

Day 3 - Pantanal, Pousada do Rio Mutum

Breakfast is followed by an ecological walk through the jungle and open fields to see the animals and birds. Having the largest diversity of bird species in the world, the Pantanal is especially interesting for bird watchers. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat trip down the Mutum river to Sia Mariana bay and Chacorore Bay. Return by boat to the lodge, stopping at Sia Mariana bay to watch the sunset and partake in piranha fishing. In the evening, feed the cayman with the piranhas fished from Sia Mariana bay and spot other nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 4 - Pantanal / Cuiaba Airport

An early start at 4.30am for a canoeing trip in the Mutum river to watch the sunrise and see the beauty of the Pantanal wildlife at the break of dawn. Return to the lodge, breakfast and check-out. Transfer to Cuiaba airport in time to board next flight.

Transfer details:

      • From Cuiaba aiurport to lodge at 13:00 and 17:30
      • From Lodge to Cuiaba airport at 07:00 and 11:00
      • Early check-in/ late check-out can be done at anytime with extra cost for transfer and additional for lunch and early activities, except during the wet season (December to March).
Package upgrades: 
      • Private tours / programs are available, rates upon request. 
      • Guides speaking other languages apart from English are subject to availability upon booking and rates can be provided on request.
